Gamma Tau in March 2007 Shield and Diamond
A great article was written this past March about the success of the Gamma Tau chapter. The article reflects on the community service activities that led to the winning of the inaugural Rensselaer Alumni Association Community Service Award for Greek Life.
Can Tabs for Cancer
The PIKES are back and are excited for a productive year. The newest campus wide project held by the PIKES is “Can Tabs for Cancer.” We are collecting can tabs to donate to the Shriner’s Hospital in
With cancer treatment continuously rising, it may become difficult to pay of the bills. By collecting can tabs and raising money against cancer, we can make it possible for a child to receive treatment for a reduced fee. Our goal this year is to raise five pounds in can tabs and two thousand dollars in cash. With your help this goal can be reached.

Clamfest Success
Thanks to everyone who came out to Clamfest last week and to all those who helped make it as successful as it was. This year we set a record of eating 3600 clams! Of course this record will be challenged next year, with some of us already counting down the days until Clamfest ‘08.
Uncle Sam’s Lanes
All of those who came out Tuesday night can’t say that they didn’t have a good time. Although the scores might not have been too high, there was plenty of pizza. Congratulations to Adam with a high score of 174 and as for the low score…Anyway, some of the pictures have been posted on Facebook. Pictures from all of our Rush events will be continuously posted on the Pikes Fall Rush 2007 group which you are encouraged to join.
Gamma Tau Receives Two Awards
In August the Gamma Tau Chapter was awarded both the Harvey T. Newl award and the chapter excellence award. The Newl Award is awarded yearly to the international chapter that has improved the most and the Excellence Award is handed out to the top 20% of chapters internationally. I want to thank the hard work of the brotherhood over the last year; you were all a part of our success as a chapter. This past year is just a look into what we can accomplish as a chapter and I am excited for the year to come. I also want to thank all of the alumni from the past few years; these awards belong as much, if not more to you.

An excellent article was written about the chapter the end of August.
Saturday, September 1: Pike BBQ
This Saturday we will be hosting a BBQ behind Commons. We will be stopping by the dorms at noon to introduce ourselves and offer a personal invitation to join us at the BBQ. Look forward to some competitive volleyball and delicious food. Take an opportunity to get away from the Commons food and meet us out back. You have to eat lunch anyway, right? Stop by this Saturday between 12-3 and help us kick off our Fall Rush of 2007. Best of luck to all of you and continue to check back for more updates.
Brand New Website
Welcome to the brand new Gamma Tau Pikes website. We re-design the site to make navigation, usability and readability mush easier for everyone. Also, the site will be much easier for us to keep updated. This means that there will be many more updates and much more content. Currently there is not much on the site as the site went live today, August 25, but we will be adding lots of content very soon.
